Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero isn’t showing any signs of slowing down despite the massive expectations he’s carrying being a first-overall pick.
Banchero was nearly unstoppable on Friday night, scoring 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in a strong 117-106 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

Banchero was 13-of-26 from the field, which helped him mount his fifth 30-point game this season.
At this point, most NBA fans feel that the American-Italian is a clear frontrunner for Rookie of the Year honors.
Averaging 19.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, Banchero has quickly found his groove in the league.
The power forward hasn’t shown any signs of cracking under pressure and has instead helped secure important wins over teams such as the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, and Denver Nuggets, among others.
Despite this being his first year, Banchero is leading his team in points and minutes played per game.
As great as he has been, the Magic are still sitting towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
They are currently 13th with a 27-37 losing record.
While their chances of making the postseason are dwindling, their future looks safe in the hands of their rookie sensation for years to come.
Banchero will continue to gain a lot of attention from fans across the NBA as he continues to improve his game and prove his worth on the Magic’s roster.
