The Orlando Magic didn’t have a lot to be happy about in the 2021-22 season.
They ended the season with a dismal 22-60 record, ranking dead last in the Eastern Conference.
While there wasn’t much to celebrate, there were a few highlights.
One of the biggest was rookie player Jalen Suggs, who averaged 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists a game.
Sadly, Suggs injured himself and only played 48 games.

The Magic just announced that Suggs underwent surgery last week to take care of a slight stress fracture in his right ankle.
Orlando says that Suggs is expected to resume basketball activities this summer and should make a full recovery before the start of training camp.
In the end, this is good news for the Magic because it means one of their most promising stars could be back and better than ever in the fall.
Making Magic
The Magic have seemed on the verge of greatness for a few years now.
Yet, true greatness has continued to elude them.
However, if they do end up being a special team, they will do so because of Suggs.
Along with Cole Anthony, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., and others, the team has a lot of young, up-and-coming talent.
Suggs, a Gonzaga alum, is one of the latest additions to the team and has gotten the fans excited for what may come next.
The idea of him being sidelined for an extended amount of time next season would be truly horrible news for the Magic.
A healthy Suggs is essential for the future of the team.
Will the Magic end next season in a position much higher than 15th in the East?
That remains to be seen but many NBA fanatics have their eyes on Suggs and what’s to come from him.
