Thursday night marked the beginning of NBA free agency and a period of great uncertainty for the Los Angeles Lakers.
There is a lot on the line for the Lakers in this offseason because a lot needs to change with the team.
Fans of the purple and gold were hoping the Lakers would get right to work on Thursday, securing new players and reshaping the team for the better.
One fan hoping for the best was none other than Earvin “Magic” Johnson.
I want to wish Rob Pelinka and the @Lakers the best of luck in free agency!

Johnson sent his warm regards to the entire Lakers organization on Thursday morning, saying “I want to wish Rob Pelinka and the @Lakers the best of luck in free agency!”
That was just hours before Kevin Durant dropped an atom bomb on the league and shook up everything – including possibly the future of the Lakers.
Lakers Looking Ahead
After the first day of free agency, LA had quite a few new names on the roster.
They managed to land Lonnie Walker IV, Troy Brown, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Damian Jones.
While none of those players are super well known All-Stars, the team sees something in them all, most specifically their youth and ability to grow.
But there is still a big question looming over the Lakers: how will they be impacted by Durant and Kyrie Irving.
The latest rumors say that Irving is once again focused on joining the team, while Durant seems like more of a pipe dream unless the team wants to put up Anthony Davis for a trade (they don’t).
LA has made a few promising moves in free agency so far and it’s nice to see them circling younger players.
But all fans of the Lakers are waiting impatiently for the next steps from KD and Irving.
