Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has been a man on a mission all season long.
Since the very first game, it’s been clear that Doncic believes in himself, is playing harder and better than ever before, and is intent on not only being the best player on his team but possibly the best player in the league.
There is no doubt that Doncic is definitely in the running to win MVP this season, which would mark the first time the Slovenian wonder earned that honor.
Doncic has been good all season but he’s been downright stellar during the last few games.
Only 8 players in NBA history have dropped 3 or more 50+ point games in a season before the age of 25:

Just a few games ago, he literally broke NBA history when he scored 60 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists against the New York Knicks, which set a new record for the league.
He followed that game up with two other amazing games, including a New Year’s Eve performance that had him score 51 points.
There have only been 8 NBA players in history to score 3 or more 50+ point games in a season before the age of 25.
Those players include LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and now Doncic too.
So, what’s next for Doncic?
He is obviously going to keep putting up jaw-dropping numbers and he might secure that MVP trophy, despite a lot of tough competition from Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and others.
But the bigger goal for Doncic is to get his team deep into the postseason.
Last year, they surprised everyone as they surged through the playoffs and made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals.
For a while, that seemed unlikely but the Mavericks have been playing much better lately, winning 6 games in a row and rising to 4th place in the West.
It’s all been powered by Doncic’s lights-out, incredible performances.
