The Dallas Mavericks are officially going to the second round of the NBA playoffs.

They took down the Utah Jazz on Thursday night in Game 6 of the first round and are now moving on to battle it out against the Phoenix Suns.

It was a big night for the team and it was also a huge milestone for their lead player, Luka Doncic.

Thursday’s victory meant that Doncic has officially won his first playoff series ever.

That’s right, one of the best players in the entire NBA has never gotten to the second round – until now.

Making it out of the first round is a massive achievement but what’s next for Doncic and his Mavericks?

Mavericks Vs Suns

The Jazz definitely put up quite a fight against the Mavericks but the next round is going to provide even more challenges.

Everyone knows that the Suns are technically the best team in the entire league.

They will probably push the Mavericks harder than they have been pushed in years.

That doesn’t mean that Dallas can’t win, though.

The Mavericks have found a great rhythm for most of the season and have greatly improved their offense and, more importantly, their defense too.

That’s good because there are few teams harder to defend than the Suns.

As for Doncic, he will have to keep playing his heart out in the upcoming games.

So far in this postseason, Doncic has averaged 29 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists a game.

He is also healthy and looking good and seemingly having a lot of fun on the floor.

The Mavericks and Doncic are back in fine form and are about to head into their toughest matchup yet.
