It didn’t take long before the Dallas Mavericks realized that they had a generational talent on their hands.
Luka Doncic needed just a handful of games to silence his critics and those who doubted that he could dominate in the NBA the same way he did overseas.
But as great and impressive as he’s been through the early stages of his career, it seems like the former Real Madrid star always has another ace up his sleeve.
He showed it again last night when he led the Mavs to an unlikely win by putting up one of the greatest performances in the history of the National Basketball Association.
Doncic went 21 for 31 from the floor, 2 fo 6 from beyond the arc, and 16 for 22 from the free-throw line en route to a 61-point, 21-rebound, 10-assist, 2-steal, 1 block performance, becoming the first player with a 60/20/10 game in NBA history.
Moreover, the Mavs became the first team to come back from a nine-point deficit with 33 points left in a game.
NBA teams were 0-13,884 in the last 20 seasons in that situation.
Needless to say, that kind of performance had to wear him out, which is why he may need some extra help to recover:
“I’m tired as hell,” Doncic told the sideline reporter after the performance of a lifetime. “I need a recovery beer.”

Well, the 19-16 Mavs don’t play again until Thursday, so maybe he can afford to grab a beer or two.
He’s most definitely earned it after writing his name in the history of this beautiful game again.
