The Dallas Mavericks are learning just how talented the Phoenix Suns really are.
Phoenix easily took down Dallas on Wednesday night, securing a major 129-109 victory in Game 2 of the second round.
The Suns are now up 2-0 over the Mavs and Dallas fans are collectively holding their breath hoping that the team can turn things around.
But if Luka Doncic‘s track record against Chris Paul is any indication, that may not happen.

Doncic is 1-9 against Paul throughout his career so far.
There is no doubt that Doncic is one of the best young players in the league and could truly be the future of the NBA but it’s undeniable that he hasn’t been able to figure out how to beat Paul.
Will this series be the time when Doncic finally cracks this nut and takes Paul down?
A Tale Of Two Teams
Looking at this solely as a competition between Doncic and Paul isn’t entirely fair because neither man is an island.
You can argue that Paul is a better, more experienced player than Doncic but you also have to acknowledge that Paul plays on a much better team.
Paul is surrounded by stronger players than Doncic, leading to his impressive dominance over the young star.
When you look at that two players’ stats side-by-side, you see some of the best point guards in the league.
Doncic is averaging 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.7 assists a game while Paul is putting up 14.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 10.8 assists.
At the end of the day, both of these players are wildly talented and future Hall of Famers.
As of right now, Paul has the upper hand but things in the NBA change constantly and Doncic and his Mavs could pull out a victory – it just won’t be easy.
