The Chicago White Sox had a disappointing 2022 season.
They were projected to take care of business in the American League Central after they had won the division in 2021.
However, injuries cost them dearly as they fell well short of the postseason, finishing 81-81.
Lucas Giolito, who had long been the ace of the pitching staff, had a difficult season as well, winning 11 games but finishing with an ERA of 4.90 in 30 starts.
But Giolito appears to be in good spirits heading into 2023 as the White Sox look to rebound from a down season.
The right-hander stopped by MLB Network to talk about what has been working for him this offseason, as well as express his excitement for 2023.

Giolito talked about how he felt that his mechanics were out of sync during the 2022 season, which ultimately led to him struggling.
However, he has been training this offseason to fix his mechanics and get back to where he was in 2021.
The veteran right-hander also commented on the signing of Andrew Benintendi, praising the team’s new acquisition for his bat-to-ball skills and Gold-Glove caliber defense out in left field, while also discussing how he thinks Benintendi will improve the club in 2023.
Giolito even went as far as to say that he was glad to not have to face Benintendi this season, as he had been a tough out for the right-hander during his time with the Kansas City Royals.
Benintendi signed with the White Sox for five years and $75 million back in mid-December.
But Giolito appears to be ready to go in 2023, and is hoping that the White Sox can turn things around.
