The season is over for the San Antonio Spurs after being taken down in Wednesday’s play-in game by the New Orleans Pelicans.
There will be a lot of soul-searching for the Spurs this offseason and perhaps a few huge changes.
In fact, they could be losing their head coach, the legendary Gregg Popovich.
And they might be losing a few players as well, including Lonnie Walker.
The shooting guard has reached the end of his rookie contract, which was signed back in 2018.
That means that Walker is entering free agency and is ready to be scooped up by a team that wants him.
Until then, he’s comfortable waiting.
Free-agent-to-be Lonnie Walker is about to go on vacation and will not be glued to his phone.
“I’m definitely throwing it in the ocean. You might get a call from a goldfish.”

Walker said he won’t be paying attention to his phone while on vacation, commenting that “I’m definitely throwing it in the ocean. You might get a call from a goldfish.”
Will any teams be looking for Walker’s number in the months ahead?
Wanting Walker
Walker has a career average of 9.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
This year has been even better for the guard, with him putting up 12.1 points, 26. rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
This uptick in stats came at the right time because Walker is now a free agent, meaning he could be moving from San Antonio and heading to the highest bidder.
Walker has yet to really break out in the NBA after being selected as the 18th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
But that doesn’t mean Walker is lacking talent.
He has actually become an important part of the Spurs’ offensive power, which has surprised many people this year.
Walker may not be the centerpiece of an NBA team but he could certainly be an important part of one.
Let’s see who comes calling this summer.
