Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell made the team more lovable.
His witty press conference responses gained the squad more followers
But take away his charm and the team regressed from 2020 to last season.
The Lions finished 5-11 in Matt Patricia’s final year as head coach.
Campbell took over and the Lions ended up at 3-13-1.
However, they ended their 2021 campaign on a high note, winning three of their final six games.
Detroit hopes that they can build on a decent finish and have a better record in 2022.
That goal will only happen if their top picks this year will perform according to hype.

Pro Football Focus showed a picture of Aidan Hutchinson and Jameson Williams wearing the Lions uniform.
Both players are Detroit’s first-round picks with Hutchison selected second overall while Williams was taken with the 12th selection.
The Lions hope that they will be cornerstones of the team’s offensive and defensive units.
Arguably the best edge rusher in the draft, Hutchinson’s selection has additional drama because the Michigan native can help transform his hometown team into contenders.
Detroit hopes that the former Michigan Wolverine can bring his A-game to their long-suffering NFL franchise.
Lions Get The Speed They Need On Offense
Meanwhile, Williams has a lot to prove while rehabilitating his injury.
The former Alabama standout finished his final collegiate year with 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The Lions hope that he can be the home-run option in their passing game which will help DJ Chark and Amon-Ra St. Brown get favorable matchups in their routes.
Add tight end T.J. Hockenson into the mix and quarterback Jared Goff has talented options to work with.
A one-year transformation for the Lions might seem impossible.
However, having Hockenson and Williams is already an investment for better days ahead.
