Say what you want about the Los Angeles Lakers (don’t worry, we’ll wait) but you really can’t badmouth the season that LeBron James has had.
At 37 years old, the man has come alive yet again and is literally playing some of the best basketball of his career.
But it just hasn’t been enough and the Lakers are still struggling mightily.
They are currently just a couple of losses away from missing their chance at even participating in the Play-In Tournament.
With all of these major losses, James has passed a huge NBA milestone – one he isn’t proud of.

According to StatMuse, James has the most 30-point games that ended in losses this season.
James has put up more than 30 points 17 times while still losing this year, while the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has done it 16 times.
No other player has achieved that feat more than nine times.
This just goes to show how dysfunctional and troubled the Lakers are.
So Much Heart, So Many Losses
The Lakers are currently the tenth seed in the West with a record of 31-43.
There was a time when they were attempting to stay above .500 and now they’re just trying to stay in Play-In contention.
This whole season has featured multiple games when James has put up more than 30 – or even 40 points.
He’s even scored more than 50 a couple of times.
Beyond that, he’s been on fire with assists and rebounds too – but the team has still suffered and has never been cohesive.
Due to injuries, a lineup that hasn’t worked, and an embarrassing defense, the Lakers have been a mess for months.
Even with the huge nights from James, the team has still humiliated its fanbase again and again.
All of the 30-point games from James are impressive but they’re now bittersweet for fans of the Lakers.
