The idea was once unthinkable but there is a very good chance that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers completely miss the postseason this year.
In fact, chances are very high that their season will end this week as they slip out of play-in contention and start a long, introspective summer break.
Yet even if James and his team are wiped out of the West, it doesn’t mean he will walk away empty-handed.
The race for the Scoring Title is coming down to the wire!

That’s because James is currently the scoring title champion in the league.
James has averaged 30.27 points per game through April 3.
Meanwhile, Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers is averaging 30.20 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is creating 30.08 points.
Will James land the scoring title or will he come up short and experience yet another disappointment from this season?
The Legacy Of LeBron
There is no doubt that James has had a wonderful season even though his team has suffered.
He’s putting up incredible numbers that are even more impressive because of his age.
He is playing at levels that far surpass most everyone else in the league and he’s doing it at 37 years old.
Now the question is how will the Lakers rebuild and improve in the offseason?
They know they have one of the best players of all time with James but they need to craft a capable squad to surround him.
You can expect a lot of big moves in the summer.
Head coach Frank Vogel is all but gone, as is Russell Westbrook.
Who else will be sent packing from the Lakers in order to capitalize on the time they have left with James?
Honestly, anyone could be traded away in the months ahead.
