The Los Angeles Lakers just can’t seem to turn it around.
They were doing quite well on Sunday night against the New Orleans Pelicans and even had a lead of more than 20 points.
But they ended up falling to the Pelicans – again – with a final score of 116-108.
How did things go so terribly wrong after starting so right?
Part of it was because of LeBron James experiencing an injury in the first half of the game when he twisted his ankle after stepping on the foot of Jaxson Hayes.
LeBron James did his ankle feels “horrible” after finishing the game on it. He had it wrapped but was able to walk – slowly – without crutches to his postgame interview.

James commented on the injury after the game, saying his ankle felt “horrible.”
He had to wrap the ankle but was able to walk on his own but he’s definitely hurt and his availability for LA’s next game against the Dallas Mavericks is questionable.
It’s been asked before but it should be asked again: is this the end of the road for the Lakers?
Limping LeBron
James has been the shining bright spot for a very bad Lakers season.
He has consistently willed his team to the finish line, even when they haven’t won.
In other words, without James the team would be in far, far worse shape.
If he really is hurt, it’s not surprising because he’s been playing an awful lot of minutes with not nearly enough help from the rest of his squad.
The man is 37 years old and the sort of physical play needed in the NBA is catching up with him.
The team is now the tenth seed again and is only a single game ahead of the 11th-seeded San Antonio Spurs.
Therefore, they can’t risk losing many more games because they will fall out of Play-In contention if they do.
If that happens, the Lakers’ season really, truly is finally over.
