It has been revealed that James and Wade are producing a documentary on the Men’s Basketball Team from the 2008 Olympics, more famously known as the “Redeem Team.”
The Redeem Team was a significant success story for multiple reasons and is still a high point for American sports.
This crew is definitely worthy of the movie treatment and there are few people better suited to give it to them than James and Wade.
Redemption In Beijing
To understand why the 2008 Olympic team was so special, you have to look at why the 2004 one was not.
The 2004 squad failed to win the gold medal and walked away with bronze.
That just didn’t sit right with the powers that be so as the 2008 Olympics approached, they worked hard to compile a team of legitimate superstars.
Led by head coach Mike Krzyzewski, the team featured James, Wade, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd, and more.
The team was a runaway success and ended up winning gold after taking down Spain in the final game.
It was incredible to see such huge names playing alongside each other and their victory made all American fans very proud.
All these years later, the team is still considered one of the greatest to ever enter the Olympics, rivaled only by the legendary 1992 Dream Team.
