If you thought NBA players were making a lot of money, then it’s time you get to know Kylian Mbappé.
The superstar forward from Paris Saint-Germain could set a new — dangerous — precedent with his next deal, as Saudi soccer club Al-Hilal could pay as much as $1.1 billion for one year of his services.
The club would reportedly pay him a yearly wage of $776 million for just one season, which is more than what the 15 highest-paid players in the NBA would make next year combined.
Needless to say, that’s a lot of money, even for those who are already loaded with cash.
That’s why even LeBron James took to Twitter to react to this shocking news, hinting at a move to the Saudi league as well if they pay that kind of money.
Me headed to Saudi when they call @RichPaul4 & @mavcarter for that 1 year deal! ✌🏾🤷🏾♂️😁 pic.twitter.com/IX0VSMZYNb

Mbappé is currently one of the biggest stars on Earth right now, and he doesn’t want to extend his contract with his current team.
The word around the sports industry is that he wants his deal to run out to join Real Madrid next summer as a free agent, which is why the French side would rather sell him now instead of watching him walk away for free.
Saudis have become major players in today’s soccer sports market, getting their hands on several superstars over the past year or so, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
Fortunately for NBA fans, they don’t seem to be too interested in hoops, so there’s nothing to worry about, at least for now.
