You can expect a lot of nasty headlines and speculation about the Los Angeles Lakers in the weeks and months ahead.
Despite having a team filled with superstars and high hopes when the season began, this last year has been an unmitigated disaster for LA.
The team has just started its summer vacation after being eliminated from playoff contention last week.
This has led to just about everyone wondering what’s next for the team and its lead player, LeBron James.
LeBron on wanting to win championships as a Laker: "I accomplished what I to accomplish and I'm still hungry for more … Also want to just change the narrative of how this franchise can compete at a high level again."

For his part, James discussed his hopes and goals for the future of the Lakers.
Speaking with the press on Monday, James said, “I accomplished what I [came] to accomplish and I’m still hungry for more.”
He then added, “Also [I] want to just change the narrative of how this franchise can compete at a high level again.”
There is no doubt James wants his team back in fine form next season – but how can that happen?
Changes Are Coming
If you like the lineup of the Lakers this season then you should be prepared for some bad news.
Barring a major change of heart, the Lakers are going to make a lot of alterations to the squad during the offseason.
Obviously, many people think the Lakers will do whatever they must to get rid of Russell Westbrook and his monster contract.
But don’t be surprised if other people are shipped away too – including some of the young, promising talents on the team.
In fact, anyone without the last name James or Davis might be on the chopping block this summer.
Head coach Frank Vogel is already gone and you can bet the Lakers will make even more cuts.
If the Lakers want to change the narrative as James said, they need to literally change the team.
