What a wild summer it’s been for the Utah Jazz.
If you can remember, the offseason started with head coach Quin Snyder stepping down from his position in order to give the team a better chance of making – and winning – the Finals.
Following that, the NBA world was rocked by the news that Rudy Gobert was being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Then, after weeks of rumor and speculation, the team shook things up again when they traded Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
Danny Ainge really has no leaks.
Rudy Gobert / Timberwolves trade came out of nowhere.
Donovan Mitchell / Cavs trade came out of nowhere.

Those two moves would have been surprising enough on their own.
But they are made all the wilder when you consider that they were kept secret all the way until they were executed.
There weren’t leaks about the Gobert or Mitchell trades, something that rarely happens in the NBA.
That made these Woj Bombs all the more explosive – and it’s a sign that Danny Ainge is running a tight ship in Utah.
Not Showing Their Cards
The Jazz are obviously taking things very seriously right now.
They want to keep the rest of the teams in the league – and the people writing about them – in the dark about any possible trades.
That is because it gives them extra leverage and power in any possible negotiations.
The Jazz wouldn’t have as much ability in a trade if the other front office in the deal was able to point to rumors and stories online.
Ainge has come to change a lot about the Jazz and he’s now shown how serious he is about that.
You have to commend him and his team for the summer they’ve had – they have brought in an awful lot and have done it all in secret.
