Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers is going to be on the bench for at least two weeks as he deals with a left hamstring strain.
Fans of the team were downright heartbroken when they heard the news that the man some call “Hilbilly Kobe” would miss games.
Since joining the Lakers last season, Reaves has become one of the most popular and beloved guys on the court.
He is celebrated for his offensive output and his defensive determination and his clutch plays.
So far this season, he is averaging 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 48.8% from the floor.
After the latest All-Star Game update, Austin Reaves still has more All-Star votes than:
De’Aaron Fox
Darius Garland
Julius Randle
Domantas Sabonis— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) January 12, 2023
Loyal Lakers followers are all-in on Reaves and the latest fan voting results for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game prove that.
Reaves has more All-Star votes than De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings, Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Julius Randle of the New York Knicks, and Domanatas Sabonis also of the Kings.
The love from fans isn’t unfounded, it is well deserved.
Reaves has become a very important part of his team.
Even throughout all of their troubles, he is one of the most consistent players on the roster.
This means that he is looking at a pretty big payday from the Lakers soon and fans are crying for the team to pay him as much as he wants.
The Lakers have sadly made a habit of allowing young, promising talent to leave for seemingly greener pastures.
Guys like Kyle Kuzma and Alex Caruso have only gotten better after leaving behind Lakerland and LA followers do not want that to happen again.
They will use multiple approaches to let the Lakers know how much they love Reaves, including getting him into the All-Star Game.
