Multiple players in the NBA – including LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers – have had incredible games recently.
In fact, James has scored more than 50 points twice over the last few weeks, which is truly jaw-dropping and a feat that should be celebrated.
But it’s also bittersweet because those two fantastic games are the only ones his team has won.
The Lakers are 2-8 since the All-Star break, tied for the 2nd-worst mark in the NBA. The only two games they won came when LeBron James scored 50 points.

The Lakers are now 2-8 since the All-Star break, which is the second-worst in the NBA.
Additionally, the only times they have won since the All-Star Game are when James has put up scored 50 points.
Therefore, unless James is having legendary, record-breaking nights, LA isn’t winning.
Leave it to the Lakers to rain on James’ parade.
Can They Be Fixed?
The fact that the Lakers are only winning when James is putting up such huge numbers really sums up the season they have had.
James has been consistent and energetic and phenomenal all year long.
Unfortunately, the rest of the team hasn’t been up to his level.
There are some very good players on the team but, for multiple reasons, they aren’t working well together.
The defense has been lacking, the offense has been very sloppy, and the squad has not been working a cohesive unit.
With a leader like James and some of the other players on the roster, there is no reason why the Lakers should be as bad as they are.
It’s gotten to the point where many fans have just thrown in the towel and are already focusing on next season.
He will keep playing hard – he might even have another 50-point game in him – but it doesn’t seem like it won’t change the trajectory of the team at this point.
