The Los Angeles Lakers are enduring a miserable season.
Injuries and a poorly constructed roster have led them to where they are, nine games below the .500 mark and ninth in the Western Conference.
Picking up Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony hasn’t helped them in the slightest.
There’s little hope the Lakers will go very far in the playoffs when that time finally comes.
In fact, there’s not a guarantee they’ll even get there.
LeBron James has carried them all the way through this season.
He put up a 56-point game a week ago to lead the Lakers to an elusive win.
But in games since the All-Star break that James has not scored at least 50 points in, the Lakers are 0-6.

A Bad Sign
This is a pretty depressing stat for the Lakers, who are desperate to get some kind of momentum going in order to save their playoff life.
James is still the star of the team and is not fazed by having to carry the load.
But he can only do so much.
He needs support from his teammates on the court.
He hasn’t really been getting much of that.
It seems as if the Lakers can only win when James goes on an absolute tear and has a historic night.
Of course, James can do that in his sleep, but one has to wonder how much longer the Lakers can stay afloat, even when he does have a historic night.
For the Lakers, this is not sustainable, and they need to figure out a way to win that doesn’t completely center around James being a hero.
If they can’t, then things look bleak for them as we inch closer to the playoffs.
