While there are many teams in the NBA attempting to make history, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently trying to avoid it.
If they don’t reach the postseason for the second year in a row, it’ll be the first time that’s happened to LeBron James since his first two years in the league.
He has missed the playoffs before (twice with the Lakers) but he has not missed back-to-back postseasons since his early years.
But right now the Lakers are the 13th team in the West and they have a tough schedule ahead of them.
Darvin Ham says the ONLY ‘goal’ for the #Lakers is to secure the 6th seed in the West. 😳

Head coach Darvin Ham knows that a lot is riding on the weeks ahead.
He has his sights set on ensuring James is in the playoffs and says that the only goal for the team, as seen in the tweet above, is to secure the sixth seed in the West.
That is far easier said than done, especially for this Lakers team.
They have repeatedly given up games that they should have won and they have also fallen to opponents even when James and Anthony Davis have been fully healthy.
The Lakers have dug such a deep hole for themselves that it’ll require a lot of skill, determination, and a bit of luck if they want to climb out.
The good news for the Lakers is that they are only a few games behind the sixth-seeded Dallas Mavericks.
LA’s 27-32 record definitely isn’t great but it’s not too far behind Dallas’ 31-29 mark.
There is a chance they could achieve Ham’s goal, even if the chance isn’t a big one.
