The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t given fans much to celebrate lately but they promise things will be different in the upcoming season.
Sure, the team hasn’t made many changes in the offseason but they still say that the 2021-22 season will soon be nothing but a distant memory and the team will once again be back in fine form and ready to storm through the playoffs.
When and if they do so, they will do it looking very flashy.

The Lakers just debuted a brand new Statement Edition of their jerseys that look both old-school and also very modern and new.
The uniforms have purple and gold, of course, but they also feature black prominently.
It’s a stark, strong, eye-catching look for LA.
Fans of the team are hoping the Lakers are wearing these during a season that is far, far better than the last.
Making A Statement
These Statement Edition outfits certainly look great but they don’t really improve the team’s chances of rebounding and coming back from the depths of last season.
The only thing that will make the Lakers better is the team itself.
There are new recruits on the team, most notably Patrick Beverley and head coach Darvin Ham, but most of the core has stayed intact.
Ham swears that this core has the talent and ability to conquer the Western Conference but that is somewhat hard to believe given the season we just saw.
Right now, the Lakers are working hard to tweak the lineup, work out the kinks, and deliver on the promises they made more than a year ago.
The Lakers will certainly be looking differently in the new season because of these jerseys but will they play differently too?
