Lakers And Spurs Officially In A Battle For A Playoff Spot

When this NBA season began, few people thought that the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers would be battling it out for the final NBA Play-In spot.

While some expected the Spurs to be struggling to make the playoffs, very few thought the same fate was awaiting the Lakers.

Yet, here we are.

The Spurs have moved within 0.5 games of the Lakers for the final play-in spot.

Currently, the Spurs are just a half-game behind the Lakers for the final Play-In spot.

That means that either of these teams could be the one fighting to keep their postseason hopes alive in the next few weeks.

Is this a sign of how impressive the Spurs have been or a sign of how truly awful the Lakers have been?

LA Vs SA

There is no doubt that the Spurs have played a bit better than people expected.

With the great help of star Dejounte Murray, San Antonio has been creating some noise in the Western Conference.

They still have a way to go before they’re in championship contention again but they’re not nearly as bad as many people expected.

Meanwhile, we are all very familiar with the struggles of the Lakers.

Despite LeBron James‘ wonderful season, the team has been floundering all season, losing to teams that they should have dominated, and never finding the right lineup or rhythm to win.

And now they are just a couple of losses away from being completely shut out of the playoffs altogether.

If that happens, it will be one of the most humiliating seasons in the history of the team and a sign that something drastic must be done.

The news is even worse for the Lakers lately because James hurt himself and may be out for a few games and they are still short Anthony Davis, who hasn’t returned from his injury.

So, who would you bet on: the Lakers or Spurs?
