The NBA is currently contemplating a substantial change to the drafting process – and one Los Angeles Lakers expert is all about it.
Right now, the league is debating the idea of lowering the age of eligibility for the draft from 19 to 18 years old.
As you can imagine, this would mean that players would be able to leap into the NBA straight after their senior year of high school.
The league currently follows a “one and done” rule, which requires young athletes to spend at least one year in college.
With that out the window, the NBA rookie classes would obviously be a bit younger.
No problem with the NBA potentially lowering the age requirement to 18. We've seen 18-year-olds who are ready to make that leap, though a strong support system from the league is a must. The growth of the G League helps as well; have to give kids the environment to succeed.

Trevor Lane doesn’t see a problem with this proposal and hopped on Twitter to support it:

Lane isn’t alone: this possible change is getting a lot of love from fans and young players all over the country.
A New-Look NBA
The difference between 19 and 18 isn’t major but it feels like a gigantic change all the same.
Some people are uncomfortable with the idea of athletes bypassing college entirely.
Others feel that if the young men are ready at 18, they should be able to capitalize on that instead of having to wait another season and sit through one year of college that they don’t necessarily want or need.
Yes, it’s just a difference of one year but this alteration will definitely change the NBA, NCAA, and the lives of many.
