Most NBA players participating in Sunday night’s All-Star Game were greeted by the loud cheers and support of thousands of fans.
However, not all of them felt the love.

NBA writer Michael Pina was on hand for the game and noted that Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks was the only player who was booed during his introduction.
The booing of Irving is shocking because the All-Star Game has become one of the few events of the year that is free of the angry opinions that the NBA generates.
People usually put that aside during All-Star Weekend.
But Irving is a player unlike any other, always able to generate serious heat and stark opinions, especially from his detractors.
Even in Salt Lake City, Irving has fostered unfavorable opinions about himself.
No one is sure if those opinions are because of his recent trade demands from the Brooklyn Nets or his COVID vaccination status or the controversy about him endorsing an antisemitic film on social media.
The truth is that there are a few things about Irving that have upset fans.
But the boos from the crowd didn’t slow Irving down during the big game.
He produced 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 15 assists during his 29 minutes for Team LeBron.
He also spent time on the sidelines, chatting with his fellow NBA stars including his new teammate, Luka Doncic.
Irving has been having a great season so far, averaging 27.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists during his time with the Nets and Mavericks.
He is used to the strong reaction from fans, both good and bad.
But that doesn’t stop him from playing amazing basketball.
