Kyle Schwarber Shares Insight On His Fiery Ejection

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber did not have a particularly good time on Sunday night.

Not only did he have to face an in-form Eric Lauer from the Milwaukee Brewers, but he also had to deal with Angel Hernandez, one of the worst umpires in MLB.

All in all, he went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts and an ejection.

He lost his mind and his cool when he thought he was getting ball four, and instead was called out on strikes by Brewers closer Josh Hader.

The pitch was clearly outside, and Schwarber lost it.

He energetically argued with Hernandez about the call, in a video that went viral.

After the game, he shared his thoughts about the whole situation.

Sticking Up For Other Guys

“Kyle Schwarber shared his thoughts after being ejected from last night’s game against the Brewers,” Fox Sports MLB tweeted, with an image of Schwarber and the following quotes:

“I’m not here to bury anyone, but it wasn’t very good… it just got to me to where I was going to stick up for some other guys.”

Hernandez had 19 missed calls just last night, including an egregious ball that he called a strike to Phillies’ infielder Jean Segura, on a pitch that was at least six inches inside.

He isn’t a particularly good umpire, but had one of the worst nights in recent memory on Sunday.

He has affected a lot of guys negatively, and that’s precisely what Schwarber is referring to when he says he was sticking up for some other guys.

It was hard to see at one point.

Hernandez’s performance and Schwarber’s reaction will stay on fans’ memories for a long time.
