The Philadelphia Phillies captured the hearts of fans all around Major League Baseball with their magical run to the World Series in 2022.
They barely snuck in as the third National League Wild Card after they made the decision to promote Rob Thomson to the managerial role and send Joe Girardi on his way.
They knocked out the St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, and San Diego Padres to reach the World Series.
Despite falling short, the Phils got a historic performance from Kyle Schwarber, who hit three home runs in the NLCS and in the World Series, becoming the first player in baseball history to hit three home runs in the LCS and World Series in the same postseason.
Kyle Schwarber has 3 HR in the World Series, and hit 3 HR in the NLCS.
He is the first player in MLB history with 3+ HR in the WS and 3+ HR in the LCS in the same postseason.

Schwarber’s Postseason Accomplishments
Schwarber certainly put on a show this postseason and helped carry the Phillies on what proved to be an unprecedented and magical run to the World Series.
Schwarber hit just .218 in the postseason, but his power was on full display.
He also posted a solid OPS of .937.
And with his solo home run in Game 6 of the World Series on Saturday night, Schwarber made some postseason history, proving to be worth every penny the Phillies spent on him last offseason to fill a hole in their offense.
The Phillies fell to the Houston Astros in six games in the World Series.
They reached their first World Series since 2009 and were just two wins shy of their first World Series title since 2008.
Schwarber gave the Phillies hope in Game 6 and his postseason performance will be remembered.
