Regardless of how things go on the court, the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers are almost guaranteed to sell out every single game.
You can always spot some of the most prominent names in the entertainment industry attending their games, whether it’s at Madison Square Garden or at the STAPLES Center (now Crypto.com Arena).
So, just picture the kind of crowd you could see when these two teams face each other.
That was on full display on Sunday when two Academy Award winners were spotted on the sidelines: Spike Lee and Denzel Washington.

Lee and Washington go way back, although they root for opposite teams.
This time, the famous director got bragging rights over the famous actor as the Knicks beat the Lakers in a thrilling matchup.
Notably, both Denzel and Lee decided to skip the Oscar ceremony to watch their teams hooping, even though they were frontrunners to win awards.
That just speaks volumes to how big of a fan they are, as this wasn’t even a playoff matchup.
Even so, both teams were desperately craving a win as we’re entering the key stretch of the season, and every single game could have major direct implications for playoff seeding purposes.
The Knicks have been one of the biggest surprises of the season, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them pull off an upset in the first round.
As for the Lakers, they still need to secure a spot in the playoffs, but they might as well be a huge dark horse to go the distance if they actually make it.
