The Golden State Warriors are currently attempting to accumulate some wins without the help of star player Stephen Curry, who is out with a leg injury.
If they are going to do that, they will need more performances like the one Klay Thompson gave on Monday night.

Thompson was playing like a man on a mission against the Oklahoma City Thunder, scoring 42 points and going 15-of-22 from the field and 12-of-15 from the three-point line.
He also didn’t get fouled once and therefore didn’t go to the charity stripe, meaning all of his points were scored by sinking buckets.
Fans of the team were elated – and a bit surprised – to see Thompson performing better than he has in years.
Because of Thompson’s team-high 42, the Warriors were able to defeat the Thunder, 141-114.
This was a huge win for the Warriors.
They were able to take down an up-and-coming, youthful, energetic team and they were able to do it without Curry’s assistance.
Every win that the Warriors can notch without Curry will help them out a lot.
Thompson was willing to step up to the challenge and lead his team and his numbers were better than they have been since 2019.
Jordan Poole was also a huge boost with his 21 points and 12 assists while Andrew Wiggins was solid with 18 and Donte DiVincenzo continued his strong season with 14.
If the Warriors continue to perform as they did on Monday then perhaps not all is lost during Curry’s absence.
The Warriors are currently the seventh team in the West but they are just a couple of games behind the fifth-place Dallas Mavericks.
They could definitely keep climbing the standings if they continue to perform this well.
