The Minnesota Vikings made a revamp in personnel by hiring new head coach Kevin O’Connell and new general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
While both of them welcome the possibility of having Kirk Cousins at quarterback, they would like to keep their options open.
They could have Pro Bowl signal-caller Deshaun Watson who reportedly identified the Vikings as one of the destinations within his radar.
However, there’s no certainty that he could play given his legal issues.
Having Watson would unleash their offense that already has Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen, and Justin Jefferson.
The 2020 passing yards leader may unlock the full potential of the first NFL player to have 3,000 receiving yards in his first two seasons (Jefferson).
Bringing in Watson is easier said than done, given salary cap concerns, including Cousins’ cap hit.
But one team could strike a deal with the Vikings to land Cousins

Having Cousins May Solve Carolina’s Quarterback Problem
The Carolina Panthers thought that Sam Darnold was their man at quarterback, especially after winning his first three games.
Unfortunately, everything went south when Christian McCaffrey suffered another injury, causing him to miss most of the season.
Darnold couldn’t run the offense well without the versatile running back, causing his benching.
Backup quarterback P.J. Walker was no answer under center either.
The Panthers got an emotional boost when former league MVP Cam Newton returned, but nothing more.
He was a shell of the player he once was and failed to make a ripple during his return.
Getting Cousins would stabilize the Panthers at quarterback and he could execute better plays for DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, and Terrace Marshall Jr.
If he can duplicate his 33 touchdowns and 4,221 yards in 2021, the Panthers are in a good position in the NFC South now that Tom Brady has retired.
