Even though his impact isn’t always reflected in his own stats, Draymond Green has always been one of the most important pieces for the Golden State Warriors.
Besides his obvious skills and smarts, Green’s vocal leadership and determination to one-up every single competitor he faces has often helped the team rally and dig themselves back from big holes.
Likewise, his strong character has often stood in his way, and that was in full display again earlier on Wednesday morning.
Green fell for a fake quote of Kevin Garnett allegedly calling him out for punching Jordan Poole and then acting tough, citing that it was like a senior punching a freshman half his size and to go try him.
Draymond hit back in a now-deleted tweet stating that he did go at KG in his rookie year, adding that Garnett didn’t even respond when he started trash-talking.

That’s why Garnett had to set the record straight, mocking Green for falling for that fake quote and source and urging Elon Musk to fix the mess Twitter has become since he started messing with the blue checks.
That’s a fake tweet. “NBA Centel”… @elonmusk see wtf is happening 🤣🤣
Fix it. https://t.co/KtcoqTonfJ

Garnett was one of the most relentless trash talkers and competitors in the league, so it’s nice to see that he took things lightly and with a sense of humor.
Green was quick to delete the tweet, but the damage was already done.
Troll NBA accounts keep growing by the day, and it’s hilarious — and dangerous — to realize that not even the players are safe from falling for things anymore.
