Kevin Garnett has made a lasting impact on the NBA and will forever be known as a 15-time All-Star and Hall of Famer.
Because of his immense talent and the success he found in the league, people greatly value his opinions about basketball.
So you know that people are excited to hear his take on the all-time best starting five in NBA history.
Speaking on his KG Certified show, Garnett listed his ideal starting five.
He was the first pick, which isn’t too surprising and totally on-brand for Garnett.
Following himself, he said that Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, and Bill Russell would round out the rest of this dream team.
That is a very strong assortment of players.
Most fans would agree that each player is a legend.
Some people would balk at the inclusion of Chamberlain and Russell, saying they wouldn’t have what it takes to battle against some of the modern players in the league.
But Garnett touched upon that as well and said that they would indeed have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with some of the men we see in the NBA today.
Garnett also said that the game of basketball has evolved a lot since the days of Chamberlain and Russell.
He claims that this evolution is ongoing and very good for the league.
He also agreed that if someone like Russell were raised in today’s environment, he’d be a true force.
The talents of players like Chamberlain and Russell go well beyond the time period they played in.
Garnett definitely loves basketball and respects the men who paved the way for him.
This proposed starting five is proof of that.
