As long as Nikola Jokic is healthy, the Denver Nuggets will always have a shot.
It seems like every day, an NBA player sets a new record.
But, most of the time, those records seem like nothing when compared to players like Wilt Chamberlain.
If a guy grabs 35 boards, then the graphic reads something like “first player to do so since Wilt Chamberlain grabbed 87 boards vs. the Celtics.” or something like that.
Now, however, it seems like Jokic is entering Wilt territory with some of the stats he’s putting up.
For instance, the Nuggets superstar became the first player to record a 40/15/15/ game on Christmas day after putting up 41 points on 16/25 shooting against the Phoenix Suns.
He also became the only player to get a 40+ point triple-double on Christmas while shooting over 60% from the field, and set a franchise record for most points on Christmas.
Needless to say, Jokic’s incredible performance didn’t go unnoticed, with thousands of people in awe of his game on social media.
Even former NBA champion Kevin Garnett had no choice but to tip his hat off to ‘the Joker,’ taking to Twitter to state: “Jokic plays beautiful basketball…”

Beautiful basketball, indeed.
Jokic has a strong chance to become the league’s MVP for the third consecutive season, as he’s averaging a whopping 25.4 points to go along with 11.0 rebounds, 9.4 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.8 three-pointers per game on 61.6% from the floor.
The Nuggets are sitting on a 21-11 record, the best in the Western Conference, and it’s mostly thanks to Jokic’s Chamberlainish season.
