Now that the Brooklyn Nets have been swept out of the first round of the playoffs, Kevin Durant has much more time to be a social media troll.

His first target is basketball legend and Inside The NBA co-host Charles Barkley, who had some harsh words about Durant recently.

Barkley referred to Durant as a “bus rider” during his two championship seasons with the Golden State Warriors.

Barkley suggested that instead of “driving” the bus, he was simply “riding” on it and wasn’t a major factor in their success.

As you can imagine, this got Durant fired up.

On Instagram, Durant posted pictures of Barkley on his teams with Scottie Pippen and Hakeem Olajuwon (that never won a ring) and Moses Malone and Julius Erving.

“Where would Chuck be without the big homies?” Durant posted in the pictures.

Is this war of words going to continue between the two icons?

Driving Or Riding?

Barkley is being a little harsh by calling Durant a “bus rider” and that’s not a truly accurate depiction of his time with Golden State.

At the same time, Durant can’t be surprised by Barkley’s comments after the season he’s had.

His Nets team is a mess and isn’t anywhere near the level it should be.

Even with all of the bad luck they had, this team is still a big letdown.

Meanwhile, Durant didn’t have a very strong first round in the playoffs.

His final game saw him scoring 39 points, but other nights saw him missing shots and being shut down by Boston’s defense.

In other words, he wasn’t playing like the Durant that fans have come to love.

He should expect some harsh words and critiques in the weeks and months ahead.
