One of the most talked-about stories of the week in the NBA was how the Brooklyn Nets came back from being down 28 points to end up defeating the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden.
The Nets did this without the help of star players Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons.
It was a big win for the Nets, mostly because of how they came back so strongly, and Durant took to Twitter to celebrate the game’s breakout star, Cam Thomas.
But when one user mocked Durant’s joy over the victory, KD had to comment.
Every win counts my boy… https://t.co/N3iVH6RYud

After the user said made light of the win, saying “You beat the KNICKS lol”, Durant simply replied, “Every win counts my boy…”
Durant’s not wrong: a win is a win, especially at this point in the season.
Counting The Win
The victory over the Knicks might not be as impressive as beating, say, the Phoenix Suns but what the Twitter user and others should remember is that it was done with a weakened roster lacking its biggest stars and it happened despite being down nearly 30 points.
Additionally, what would people have said if the Nets did end up losing by more than 20 to the Knicks?
The Nets are trying to figure themselves out and become a strong, playoff-caliber team after weeks of struggling.
Their win against the Knicks shows they might finally be on the right path and may have more players they can rely on than previously thought.
Any win is a cause to celebrate, Durant is right about that.
While the Twitter user was correct in noting that the Knicks aren’t the most intimidating opponents in the league, the way the Nets won and the lineup they won with is definitely worth noting.
