It’s been a big week for fans of Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tuesday would have been Bryant’s 44th birthday while Wednesday, 8/24, is known as Kobe Day or Mamba Day to many.
Bryant’s place in basketball history is unquestioned and only becoming more pronounced over the years.
This led to many people, both fans and players, celebrating Bryant over the last few days through memories, videos, and photos.

One person memorializing Bryant was his old opponent, Kevin Durant.
The Brooklyn Nets star commented on a photo of him facing off against Bryant.
Durant had to make a little joke at the image, saying, “This was a bucket, bean stance was too open and gave me a hook shot going middle. Miss you my boy!!! Lol.”
Durant has always said that Bryant was a vital part of his upbringing and his love of the game.
Even for the league’s most sarcastic smack-talker, Bryant is someone who brings out real emotion.

Durant was seen as one of the most promising young players in the league towards the end of Bryant’s career.
He was helping the Oklahoma City Thunder become an exciting team in the Western Conference and the rest of the league.
Some people viewed Durant’s rise during the conclusion of Bryant’s career as a changing of the guards, the new taking place of the old.
The two players faced off a number of times but sadly they never met in an NBA Finals.
Bryant, always a champion of the young players taking over the NBA, had sound advice and guidance for Durant and many others in his age group.
Bryant’s influence has remained with Durant for years.
