The Brooklyn Nets got a big and impressive win against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.
The team looked and felt better than it had in some time even without Kyrie Irving, who remains out due to his suspension.
Brooklyn put a lot more pressure on Kevin Durant, and he seemed up for it, scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists.
Following his triple-double, Durant opened up a bit about a massive change the team just went through.
Kevin Durant was "excited" for Jacque Vaughn to be named permanent head coach:
"I know the works that he puts in every day. I know how much he cares about the development of each player and this team as a whole." pic.twitter.com/2nreS7bSbo

Durant spoke highly of his new head coach, Jacque Vaughn.
The former MVP talked about how excited he is for the coach:
“I know the works that he puts in every day. I know how much he cares about the development of each player and this team as a whole.”
It’s good that Vaughn has the support of Durant because, honestly, he probably wouldn’t have a job without it.
If Durant can work well with Vaughn, brighter days may be ahead for the Nets.
Vaughn’s Big Promotion
This new job has been a long time coming for Vaughn.
He has been working for the team since 2016.
He started as an assistant coach and then stepped up as the interim coach not once, but twice.
It looked like he was going to lose the job to Ime Udoka following Steve Nash‘s firing.
But the Brooklyn front office came to their senses and decided to reward the loyal Vaughn over adding more controversy to the team with the inclusion of Udoka.
The road ahead won’t be easy for Vaughn because his team is very conflicted and dysfunctional and has a lot of room for growth,
But if anyone knows this team and its players and fans best, it’s Vaughn.
