Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets has never been one to pull his punches or hide his opinions about, well, anything.
Durant’s honesty and openness are some of the things that fans love about him – but those fans are shocked to hear his latest statements.
Durant spoke candidly about his recent trade requests and the current state of the team.
As usual, he didn’t hold back.
“Look at our starting lineup. Edmond Sumner, Royce O’Neale, Joe Harris, [Nic] Claxton and me. It’s not disrespect, but what are you expecting from that group? You expect us to win because I’m out there.”

Durant summed up the current roster harshly, claiming that Brooklyn’s front office has been putting a lot on his shoulders:
“Look at our starting lineup. Edmond Sumner, Royce O’Neale, Joe Harris, [Nic] Claxton and me. It’s not disrespect, but what are you expecting from that group? You expect us to win because I’m out there.”
Believe it or not, Durant says that he’s actually happy playing in Brooklyn and has faith in the guys on his roster.
KD Opens Up
Throughout his interview with Bleacher Report, Durant made it clear that he wants to practice a lot, work hard, and help his team win.
He also showed that he doesn’t care what the critics say, he is simply focused on playing the best basketball he can.
Durant pushed back against those saying he’s not a leader – and he also pushed back against those who said he’s not enjoying the NBA anymore.
“I’m really having a good time. I wish y’all could hear me talk during the game,” Durant said.
“If I got mic’d up more, people would stop asking me if I’m happy or not. I’m enjoying every moment I get to step on this f–king court,” he added.
Durant was brutally honest in the interview but he was also optimistic that things could get better for the Nets.
Fans are waiting for that to become a reality.
