Kevin Durant Calls Out Shaq In A Perfect Way

Another day, another Twitter spat for Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets.

As you very well know, Durant loves to get in arguments on social media: he’ll fight about just about anything as long as it’s related to basketball.

His latest target is none other than NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Shaquille is hilarious. You’re a billionaire bro lol https://t.co/11Bq3EIY6i

O’Neal was ranting about the state of the NBA and the amount of money players currently make.

He was particularly peeved about Rudy Gobert‘s worth, which is rumored to be around $250 milliion.

Durant wasn’t having any of it, clapping back with “Shaquille is hilarious. You’re a billionaire bro lol.”

Is there a chance that both of these guys are right?

Shaq’s Salary

First of all, Durant is a little off with his numbers: O’Neal’s net worth is estimated to be about $400 million.

But Durant’s point stands because it is a bit silly to hear someone who became filthy rich due to basketball talk down about someone else becoming filthy rich due to basketball.

At the same time, O’Neal’s point resonates with many people who find the salary of NBA stars to be outrageous.

Yet, some of the guys in the league are able to lead their teams to great success and the front offices are willing to pay big time for that.

This is just how the league works.

Now, is Gobert worth that much money?

That’s a whole different argument with many people on both sides, some saying he isn’t anywhere close to that value and others saying he’s definitely worthy of that haul.

Durant and O’Neal will likely put all of this behind them.

It’s always great to see two NBA greats battle it out – but it’s much more fun when they’re doing it on the court.
