All eyes have been on the Oklahoma City Thunder recently.
Usually, when OKC is getting so many headlines it’s for embarrassing reasons, like record defeats.
But lately people have been very intrigued about the Thunder because of its newest star, Chet Holmgren.
Taken as the number two pick in last month’s draft, Holmgren has been showing his talents during the NBA Summer League – and he hasn’t disappointed.
Giddey and Chet are giving me Garland and Mobley type vibes. Josh Giddey is going to be the Face of the OKC Thunder! Carry the hell on… pic.twitter.com/dtrJ03vQZ9

While Holmgren has done wonderfully on his own, he’s been raising eyebrows for his work alongside Josh Giddey.
Giddey was already a huge talent for the Thunder but the way that he has performed with Holmgren is very exciting.
Kendrick Perkins is blown away: the NBA analyst said that, “Giddey and Chet are giving me Garland and Mobley type vibes.”
He also added that Giddey will soon be the face of the Thunder.
Is this really the most impressive new duo in the league?
Buddies On The Court
Giddey was a runaway success last year for the Thunder.
He was doing tremendous work during this rookie year in Oklahoma City and was breaking records for triple-doubles at his age.
Of course, even with Giddey and a few other promising young players, the Thunder were still very far off from being in playoff contention.
But maybe the inclusion of Holmgren can get them even a little bit closer to that goal.
It’ll definitely help them win a few more games and become more competitive, that’s a step in the right decision.
These two obviously love playing back to back with one another and can cause a lot of headaches for their opponents.
If they spend the next few months practicing in the gym and building their chemistry and rhythm, they could really improve the Thunder’s chances.
