At this point, the entire baseball world is aware of the dispute that took place in the St. Louis Cardinals clubhouse earlier this week.
After Tyler O’Neill was thrown out at the plate by Ronald Acuna Jr., manager Oli Marmol called out his star center fielder for a supposed lack of effort when trying to score.
The two have butted heads this week and the issue has become public.
But there are multiple perspectives that must be considered here.
Ken Rosenthal appeared on the show “Foul Territory” to discuss the issue and examine both sides of the debate before placing blame on O’Neill or Marmol.

Rosenthal noted all perspectives.
Some are blaming third base coach Pop Warner for sending O’Neill.
Some are criticizing O’Neill’s efforts, while others are upset with Marmol for making the issue public.
There are also those who are defending O’Neill, who may have been trying to preserve himself and avoid another injury.
The slugger has certainly dealt with more than his fair share of those, with his hamstring being an issue last season.
However, Rosenthal notes that Marmol likely felt that there was a need to do this publicly, and also made a fair point that many have theorized.
It’s very possible that there could be some other underlying issues that fans and media members aren’t aware of, which may have led to this public dispute.
It’s tough to determine as of now, and fans are certainly going to do a deep dive into this whole situation.
But it may ultimately blow over after just a few days.
