The Alabama Crimson Tide had a special guest this week.
Ken Griffey Jr., one of the best players in MLB history, was on campus and talked with some of the players and coaches.
If someone has a broad number of topics to discuss regarding experience in sports, it’s Griffey.
He was baseball’s global star in the 90s and 2000s: he had several sponsorship deals, video games, and all kinds of things that made him famous.
What made him so popular in the baseball industry was his swagger and the ease with which he approached the game: he was a natural, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t competitive.
A Hall of Famer, he retired with 630 home runs and would have had many more if it wasn’t for injuries late in his career.
The University of Alabama made sure to thank him via Twitter.

To be more specific, Griffey spent some time with the Alabama football team.
The Crimson Tide have been one of the very best college teams in recent memory, and have produced a long list of successful athletes that have gone pro.
Stars such as DeVonta Smith, Bryce Young, Derrick Henry, Tua Tagovailoa, Will Anderson Jr., Minkah Fitzpatrick, Najee Harris, Amari Cooper and many more are currently shining at the NFL level and are Alabama alums.
It sure doesn’t hurt to have “The Kid” talking to the young players who want to enter a whole new world eventually: American professional sports.
