The Cy Young Award winners have been revealed.
Last night, it was announced on MLB Network that Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander had won his third American League Cy Young Award.
In the National League, Sandy Alcantara took home the award.
Verlander went 18-4 in 28 starts with an MLB-best 1.75 ERA in 2022.
The 39-year-old was the unanimous choice for the AL Cy Young Award, which the voting results show.
Verlander received 30 first-place votes for the Cy Young.
Dylan Cease of the Chicago White Sox came in second.
He, Alek Manoah, Shohei Ohtani, and Framber Valdez did not receive any first-place votes

JV Cruises To Cy Young
It’s clear that Verlander completely crushed the competition in the Cy Young race.
The 39-year-old had missed all of the 2021 season and most of the 2020 season due to elbow troubles.
The Astros brought back the veteran right-hander in free agency, and Verlander certainly rewarded them, returning to form and defying Father Time once more.
Verlander’s complete and utter dominance was a key factor in the Astros run to their second World Series title in franchise history.
He was acquired from the Detroit Tigers in August of 2017 and immediately gave Houston a boost in their rotation.
In addition to that, the future Hall-of-Famer became a fan favorite in Houston rather quickly.
2022 may have been his final season in Astros threads, but if he walks in free agency, he will have left behind a lasting legacy in Houston and will be remembered fondly for what he was able to accomplish.
