When people think of the NFL MVP, they think about quarterbacks.
The last nine MVP winners have all been quarterbacks.
Since 2013, quarterbacks have been the dominating candidates for the highest honor during the NFL regular season.
Three of the last nine MVP awards went to Aaron Rodgers, who is the current defending NFL MVP.
But for the Minnesota Vikings and their star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, he’s looking to break the quarterback MVP mold this season.

While Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts headline the MVP talks, Jefferson has quietly put in the work to be an MVP candidate.
He was first in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809) while ranking 11th in touchdowns (8).
His performance against the Buffalo Bills had everything talking about his playmaking abilities.
The incredible catches he makes in games make him a clear MVP candidate.
Because of him, the Vikings won games they otherwise might have lost.
While a wide receiver has never won the NFL MVP, Jefferson is looking to be the first to accomplish this feat.
His list of accomplishments help him in the battle.
While Mahomes and Hurts are the heavy favorites, the Vikings receiver is looking to upset the apple cart.
Despite the season Mahomes is having, it’s hard to overlook what the young receiver did during this NFL season.
It’s his play which helped the Vikings secure their first NFC North title since the 2017-18 season.
Because of this, he gets himself into the MVP conversation.
Now he awaits to see if his performance is enough to put him in the NFL record books.
