Julio Rodriguez may be the next superstar to become a Seattle Mariners legend.
This past weekend, the Mariners celebrated one of their legends in Ichiro Suzuki, inducting him into their Hall of Fame.
Ichiro was a legend in Mariners history and before long, he could have his iconic No. 51 retired by the team.
The weekend was all about Ichiro and what he did for the Mariners organization for so many years.
Rodriguez is the favorite for the American League Rookie of the Year Award and looks prepared to follow in Ichiro’s footsteps.
On Twitter, he posted a nice little tribute to the Mariners great, featuring a collage of photos of him presenting Ichiro with a gift and the goat emoji in the caption to signify his greatness.

J-Rod Shows Respect For Ichiro
This was a nice, thoughtful post by Rodriguez
Rodriguez, like Ichiro, is an exciting baseball player.
But he knows who came before him and he wanted to make sure he paid tribute to one of the greatest players to ever wear the Mariners uniform.
Rodriguez may be young, but he’s a class act too and it’s nice to see him show respect and gratitude to a Mariners great.
He knows that a several legends precede him and that he may be on his way to join them if he keeps hitting the way he has been.
It’s always nice to see players pay tribute to legends, especially younger players.
Some might expect for the younger players not to pay much attention to that, but Rodriguez knows what Ichiro meant to the city of Seattle.
Now, he hopes to carry on his legacy and help usher in a new era of Mariners baseball.
