The postseason is finally here.
For the Seattle Mariners, it’s certainly been a long time coming.
Seattle finished the regular season with a record of 90-72 and earned the second Wild Card in the American League.
They’ll open up the Wild Card Series at Rogers Centre against the Toronto Blue Jays.
After yesterday’s game, the favorite for the American League Rookie of the Year Award, Julio Rodriguez, addressed the crowd in Seattle.
Rodriguez gave a speech to hype up Mariners fans for their first taste of the postseason since 2001, while also making a promise, that they would give everything they had for each and every one of their fans who have been dying to see some postseason baseball for so long.

J-Rod Makes A Promise
Mariners fans are ready to go, and the same can be said about Rodriguez.
He gets a chance to taste October baseball in his rookie season.
That’s quite a solid treat.
But he also understands how long Mariners fans have been waiting to see postseason baseball.
When they last made it in 2001, Rodriguez was less than a year old.
He’s too young to even remember that.
But he knows that Mariners fans have gotten the short end of the stick for the last two decades.
And so, he made a promise to Mariners fans and told them that they would work hard to ensure they finish October on a good note.
Seattle has never once appeared in a World Series.
But Rodriguez and the Mariners are bound and determined to play hard for the fans and give them everything they’ve got.
We’ll see if Seattle can get hot and Rodriguez can keep his promise.
