Julio Rodriguez Had The Perfect Reaction To Latest Honor

Seattle Mariners rookie Julio Rodriguez has been one of MLB’s most impressive players in the first half of the season.

He skipped Triple-A altogether and went to MLB to dominate: that’s something that only special players do.

So far, the talented outfielder is hitting .277/.336/.487 with 15 home runs and 21 stolen bases.

His 48 runs and 43 RBI are an excellent output, too, especially on an offensively-challenged team like the M’s.

Rodriguez recently received a cool recognition, as the American League Player of the Week.

Rhys Hoskins got the nod in the National League.

The young slugger, very active on Twitter, had some comments to his latest designation.

“Hungry for more,” he said while quote tweeting MLB’s announcement.

Hungry For More: That Should Be J-Rod’s Mantra

If Rodriguez has shown something in his debut MLB season, it’s just that: hunger.

He is hungry to produce, to succeed, and to improve as a hitter.

It’s not a coincidence that he has an incredible 2.9 Wins Above Replacement, or WAR.

He currently projects something close to 5.5, which puts him in star territory.

Rodriguez has it all: his sweet swing from the right side should generate plenty of .300+ batting average seasons in the future, and he has enough power to comfortably surpass 30 home runs per year for the next 10 seasons, at least.

He is somehow just 21 years old, yet he is having a better season than most stars you can probably think of right now.

Rodriguez is the real deal, and he is making sure the Mariners fight for the playoffs no matter the adversities and circumstances surrounding the team.

He is not just a special hitter: he is a special player, one who is blossoming right before our eyes.
