Last week, after winning three straight games, the Minnesota Vikings got some devastating news, with the team learning that veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins had suffered a torn Achilles tendon and would miss the rest of the season.
With Cousins out for the year and the team in playoff contention, the Vikings brass decided to make a move ahead of the NFL trade deadline to address the void left at the quarterback position.
As a result, the team acquired quarterback Joshua Dobbs in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals, and the move is already starting to pay off as he had an incredible debut for the Vikings in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Dobbs racked up three total touchdowns and helped lead the team to its fourth straight win, and he talked about his NFL career up to this point after the game via FOX Sports: NFL.
"You just gotta accept your journey, man. Sometimes there's a lot of highs, there's a lot of lows. You stay right in the middle. You take it one day at a time. You'll always be ready for whatever the journey throws at you." @Kristina_Pink spoke with @Vikings QB Josh Dobbs after… pic.twitter.com/C9WKghdvqi

Dobbs showed his versatility in the win over the Falcons, as he made plays through the air and on the ground while proving to the team that bringing him in was a brilliant move, as the team can now continue to compete for a playoff spot in the NFC.
Although this team isn’t the powerhouse they were last season, Minnesota seems to be coming around with a new sense of purpose after a disappointing start to the 2023 campaign.
Along with Dobbs proving he might be able to fill Cousins’ shoes for the time being, the Vikings might be on the verge of getting superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson back on the field, which will improve their chances of being playoff-bound.
