The NFL season kicks off tonight with the defending champion Los Angeles Rams hosting the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills come to LA with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
Josh Allen finished second in the NFL MVP voting in 2020.
Now, he takes another run at the award in 2022.
The Bills QB is the favorite to win league MVP this year and he has a chance to put up monster numbers.
Allen will have no better time to start his MVP candidacy than in the season kickoff game.
NFL personnel surveyed are in lock-step on their 2022-23 MVP pick: Josh Allen.

The MVP award has gone to Aaron Rodgers the past two seasons and it is about time someone else gets it.
The Bills should have the team success necessary to win Allen the award as long as he puts up another monster season.
Allen is a dual-threat QB that dominates as a passer but also has really good rushing ability.
Last season he rushed for 763 yards and six touchdowns.
He even gets plenty of usage as the Bills’ goal-line running back.
His 6-foot-5, 237-pound frame makes it easy for him to plow his way into the end zone.
Playing well in Week 1 will go a long way in getting Allen’s MVP candidacy moving in the right direction.
Defeating The Rams
Despite winning the Super Bowl last season, the Rams entered the postseason as the fourth seed in the NFC.
They had a 12-5 record in the regular season and despite their talented roster were not NFC favorites entering the postseason.
But, after a few early round upsets, the Rams saw themselves hosting the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl.
The Rams have a group of very talented players on defense highlighted by Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey will most likely shadow Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
That is Allen’s number one target and one of the best WRs in the NFL.
The Rams gave up the 11th-most receiving yards in the NFL last season.
Allen and the Bills will have to exploit that in the opener.
Look for Gabe Davis and Isaiah McKenzie to have big games as the second and third options in Buffalo’s offense.
Los Angeles gave up the sixth-fewest yards rushing in the NFL last season.
So running the ball into that stout Rams defensive line will not be the answer.
The good thing for the Bills offense is that their offensive line gave up the second-fewest sacks in the NFL.
They only allowed 27 sacks in 17 games and a lot of that may be due to the mobility of Allen.
That mobility will play a big factor in this game and extending drives for the Bills.

According to PFF, the Bills’ offensive line ranks 20th in the league heading into 2022.
It would be a surprise if this game did not turn into a shootout.
The Bills have as much firepower as anyone in the league and they get the chance to prove it tonight.
Allen will have the chance to get his MVP candidacy off to a great start.
Defeating the defending champs on the road to start the season is a statement win that all MVP candidates need.
