After Damar Hamlin‘s injury on Monday night, and although there was an overwhelming sense of support for Hamlin himself, many people on the internet chose to spread negativity, and play the blame game.
Although he just performed a routine football move, many chose to attack Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.
In a Buffalo Bills press conference on Thursday, Josh Allen made the Bills’ stance on this opinion abundantly clear.
"People should not be attacking [Tee Higgins] whatsoever. … Hopefully he found some relief today, because again, that's a football play, and I hope that he doesn't hold that upon himself."

As Allen reiterates, Higgins did nothing wrong.
He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and unfortunately, Hamlin’s injury happened to occur on a play where he tackled Higgins.
By Allen coming out and defending Higgins, he will hopefully quell the social media warriors who chose to take out their frustrations on Higgins and the rest of the Bengals organization.
Meanwhile, Higgins has come out and pledged his full support to Hamlin and his family.
Thankfully, Hamlin has been making incredible strides in his recovery process and was even able to talk with his teammates earlier today via FaceTime.
All things considered, this was the best possible outcome for Hamlin, his family, the Bills organization, and the NFL as a whole.
Allen’s statement yesterday continues to demonstrate the poise, character, and leadership that makes a great quarterback in the NFL.
His coaches and teammates trust him to address the media in trying situations, and he has stepped up in a big way each time.
We are continuing to hope and pray for Hamlin’s speedy recovery, and wish nothing but the best for not only him but for Higgins as well.
